During the past twelve months, several activities and workshops were organized by our Museum. The purpose of these activities was mainly for children and the elderly.

The Museum was invited to participate in an event 'World Children's Day' held at the Forum on the 1st June, 1998. With the collaboration and preparation of the staff, creative games were made to arouse the interest of the children to come to our pavilion.

During the last summer vacation, a workshop for Chinese painting was held in the Museum for children belonging to local associations. It aimed at giving them a basic concept of what Chinese painting is. A competition on the workshop was held at the same time and as a result, an exhibition of the children's works was held for two weeks.

In celebration of the Christmas Season, a workshop for school children to make festive ornaments was organized. The children who participated in the workshop used their imagination to create many interesting and decorative objects which were later displayed on our first Christmas tree.

In fact, we organize activities and workshops not only for youngsters, but also for the elderly, too. For three afternoons in February and March this year, more than one hundred elderly people were invited to celebrate the Chinese New Year with us in the Museum.

There were additional activities including seminars organized by the MM/ICM as well as with other associations of Macau.
