The Museums of Macau have taken the initiative for the second year running in organising a program for International Museum Day 18th May 2001. This is an important date for Museums around the world as it highlights the public awareness of ethnographic and cultural aspects of their societies. As Macau is concentrating more and more on Cultural Tourism and heritage development this is a key opportunity for our museums to highlight their contents and aim to incentivate the local public.

Aim:
To further promote an awareness of Macau’s rich culture and the importance of preserving what still exists and learning what existed previously
Features:
A) The project will take place from the 18th May 2001 until the 20th May 2001. That means for a duration of 3 Days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (entry will be free during these days).
There will be a free bus service only on the 18th May, please consult the timetable in annex.
B) On the 18th until the 20th May, the participants that will visit the Museums according to the list above will need to reply correctly to one of the questions (there are 5 questions to choose from) asked by the Museums and will then receive a bookmark with a chop from the respective Museum. After having visited the 9 Museums and collected 9 stamps on the bookmark, they should fill out their personal information on the bottom half of the bookmark and place it in the lucky draw box, keeping with them the top part of the bookmark for the lucky draw results.
C) The participants will receive a souvenir only on the 18th May after having participated in the above-mentioned games (until stocks last).
D) The Participants that visit the Museums on the Saturday and Sunday will also have to follow the same rules but they will have a chance only at the second lucky draw.
E) On the 23rd May the results for this lucky draw will be published in the local newspapers and the winners will be notified by telephone to participate in the prize giving ceremony.
F) The prize giving ceremony will be on the 26th May 2001, Saturday in the Museum of Macau, Temporary Exhibition Room at 15:00.
