The Cultural Institute/ Museum of Macao in collaboration with the National Museum of Chinese Modern History, will be presenting an exhibition focusing on the theme “The Flag, The Emblem and the National Anthem of the People’s Republic of China”, which will be open to the public from the 13th December until the 11th April 2003. The inauguration ceremony will take place on the 12th December, at 15:00, in the Museum of Macao. The exhibition will comprise of various important documents, manuscripts and objects related with the history of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China. For example the microphone used by Chairman Mao Zedong, in Tiananmen to proclaim the founding of the PRC and his inscription on the Monument of the People’s Heroes “Eternal Glory to the People’s Heroes”.Important objects from Modern History, like the podium with the National Emblem used in the Macao Handover Ceremony, as well as the speech given during the same ceremony by His Excellency the President of the People’s Republic of China, Jiang Zemin, the speech given by His Excellency the Prime Minister of the State Council, Zhu Rongji at the ceremony of the establishment of the Special Administrative Region of Macao, its Government and its respective Programs.
