Macao’s Application Items for Intangible Cultural Heritage

Recently, the three declared entities of Macao – ‘Naamyam singing and talking’, ‘Feast of the Drunken Dragon’ and ‘Macao Taoist Ritual Music’ – have been inscribed on the Intangible Cultural Heritage List at national level. The enthusiastic public awaits the official announcement.

This year, the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government will launch its second round declaration of intangible cultural heritage. In order that the public can better understand the application procedures and relevant tasks, Macao Museum will host a ‘Briefing Session on the Declaration of Macao’s Intangible Cultural Heritage’.

To protect Macao’s intangible cultural heritage and formulate a comprehensive list of intangible cultural heritage entities, the Cultural Affairs Bureau accepts the application of intangible cultural heritage entities from all parties, groups or institutions. Applications will be co-ordinated and followed up on by Macao Museum. Regulations and declaration application forms can be downloaded from www.macaumuseum.gov.mo. For enquiries, please call Mr. Chan at 853-8394 1221.
