Tou Tei Kung and Tou Tei Po (Earth God and Earth Goddess) are often placed next to each other in the Tou Tei altars in Macao. According to the Chronicle of Mingshan County compiled in the Qing dynasty, “the statue with bristling beard is Tou Tei Kung and the one with a bun is Tou Tei Po.”(Photo taken at the Tou Tei altar on Rua do Bazarinho)
