Since Macao returned to the mother country in 1999, Macao has acquired solid support and earned great achievements in urban development in the last two decades. Urban functions of Macao have been improving since many infrastructure construction projects were completed. Through piers, sea-crossing bridges, airports and light rails, Macao is connected to neighbouring cities and many places in the world. To celebrate both the 70th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China and the 20th anniversary of Macao’s return to the mother country, the Macao Museum presents “A Pearl of the Sea - Exhibition of Macao’s Urban Evolution ” with four sections: “Geographical Change”, “Past View and New Image”, “Infrastructure Constructions”, and “A New Chapter”, there are 101 exhibited items/sets in total. The exhibition narrates the urban change of Macao since the mid-19th century, and it will present a brand new historical image of Macao to the public and the visitors.
