Monstrance, also known as an ostensorium, is the enameled vessel used to hold the unleavened bread during the Catholic Mass. As Christian faith spread to the East, Western religious wares also exerted farreaching influence on Eastern fine and decorative art. They have enriched the cultures and artistic elements of China and other Asian countries where a large amount of stylish, ornate and well-wrought garments and ritualistic supplies have been produced.
