These bowls were ordered by Sun Fo (son of Sun Yat Sen) to celebrate his mother Lu Muzhen's 70th birthday. Each bowl is decorated with the patterns of a Buddha's hand, a peach, and a pomegranate, respectively symbolizing bliss, longevity and procreation. Besides, the outer surface also has the cursive script inscriptions literally meaning "In celebration of Ms. Sun's 70th birthday” and “A long life full of bliss.” There is also the inscription at the bottom identifying the producer, Jiahuatang.
